Hey guys,

First of all, the software looks fantasic - we can't wait to give both of them a try.

Before we make the plunge, I was wondering if you had worked out a way to combine both forms together so that one signup filled out both highrise and freshbooks (we use both). If not, do you think this would ever be a possibility?

Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon,

This is definitely something we considered as we also use both Highrise and FreshBooks.  As you observed, we decided to keep the products separate because, for most website owners, Highrise and FreshBooks typically meet a potential client's needs at different stages of the relationship.  When a client is a prospect you'd typically want them in Highrise to track the formation of the relationship and work out proposals and deals.  This is served by a form on the website where questions are being asked about the prospect like how to get in touch with them, what they're interested in, how they found you, etc. Once it becomes clear that the prospect is going to become a client and will need to be in Freshbooks they'd fill out a more formal "New Client" form that would go into FreshBooks with their billing contact information and full company address details.

On the programming side it is technically possible to make calls to both APIs, but it would get a little hefty on the processing side as the code would be making multiple calls to both APIs, responding to API feedback and processing the e-mails all while trying to be "instant" for the person who filled out the form. We wanted to make sure the form user has as fast an experience as possible.

We'll keep our ears to the ground though, if there's enough demand for it we'll revisit this topic.

Thanks for writing in.

Hey Brandon,

Just wanted to add that FreshBooks will be releasing a tool to sync client information from Highrise to FreshBooks in the very near future.

Hi guys, thanks for the help. We'll go ahead and get the highrise version for now and see how FB handles the sync. If it's bad then we'll probably go ahead and get the other version later.

Brandon,

We just released a new version that supports Highrise Tags and further, we're now offering a 15 day free trial for both products.  Just register on our site (which you've done), log in, and click "manage licenses" to get your trial keys. Now you can ensure everything works as expected without any risk.

Download the lastest versions from the "Downloads" button up top.
