Error message

" functions.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator. "

I've searched on line and not found a solution. Is there a fix?

Follow up: I'm sure it's something to do with my server configuration, so I sent you the information under separate cover!

For others, this relates to using HostMonster for multiple domains. While ioncube is installed for some reason it still requires an update to the php.ini file. Right now, the question is where to put it!

Thanks for your help!

Brendan, you're awesome!

Thanks for walking me through the install and config issues on my server.

It works a charm now: it does exactly what I needed it to do, and will save me a TON of money! I'll be Tweetin' ya!

Yay!

I'm sorry that you are having trouble with the installation.  This is a bit strange as all of the Ioncube loaders are included in the ioncube folder that is part of the download.  Do make sure that you've uploaded the complete s2_form_highrise folder to your website root.  It needs to be there and the name of it cannot be changed.  Also make sure that you've uploaded the ioncube folder that is within that directory.

I just double-checked and ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so is included in the ioncube directory, so do make sure it's uploaded.

You do not have to restart your web server unless you are trying to make ioncube part of your web server configuration, which is something that some web hosting providers do. This is not required.

I think you'll find that if you double-check to make sure the s2_form_highrise folder is uploaded to your website root you'll be in good shape.

If your website's root folder is /public_html/ for instance then you should upload the s2_form_higrise there so that you'll have:
/public_html/s2_form_highrise/ and
/public_html/s2_form_highrse/ioncube/

As long as you maintain that directory structure you should be in good shape.

Hi Regina,

We received your e-mail and responded there as well.  To summarize for others:

No changes to php.ini should be required because the "ioncube" folder that is part of the package has all of the necessary loaders in it.  As long as you upload the "s2_form_highrise" folder to your website root everything should work.

I looked at your particular php.ini folder and it was referencing the wrong loader files.  Because of this it was throwing an error as Ioncube first looks for options in the php.ini settings and from there looks for the "ioncube" folder.  Because the settings in php.ini were wrong it stopped there.

But to reiterate, no changes to php.ini are required, simply uploading "s2_form_highrise" folder to the website root will let everything fall into place.

Thanks Regina, we're happy to help.  For others following this thread... as it turned out, HostMonster had a particular way of handling IonCube we hadn't seen.  It is documented here http://helpdesk.hostmonster.com/index.php/kb/article/000147 and took just a few minutes to enable.

Hello, do you know if mediatemple also deals with ionCube in an anomalous way? I'm also getting the message ".../html/s2_form_highrise/functions.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator."

phpinfo.php reveals that the site root is /home/82862 and the site html root is /home/82862/domains/domain_name/html

Thank you.
